PSHE

Personal, Social and Health Economics (PSHE) education enables our children to become healthy, resilient and responsible members of society, who have developed life skills to independently navigate and understand the world around them. Our PSHE curriculum equips children with relevant and meaningful content, which is supported through a strong emphasis on emotional literacy, learning how to work collaboratively, and nurturing mental and physical health.

Implementation

We use the SCARF scheme of work to teach PSHE and our RSHE curriculum is carefully planned and sequenced having consulted with stakeholders. It reflects the age and context of our children and is embedded within our PSHE curriculum which we share termly with parents to support them in their understanding of the content of our RSHE curriculum.

We are developing our children’s understanding of equality, diversity and inclusion using The No Outsiders book project which take the use of high quality, engaging texts to introduce important EDI topics.

SMSC and British Values are embedded in everything we do at Woodmasnsterne and we have carefully mapped the ways this is promoted within the school and the curriculum. We encourage our children to make a positive contribution to the life of the school and the wider community as Pupil Parliament members, Values Ambassadors and Head Boys and Girls. We provide our children with active opportunities for them to learn about rights and responsibilities and to value what it means to be a member of a diverse society with British Values at its heart.
