French
We teach French as our modern foreign language and we want to enable our children to develop the skills and confidence to consider themselves members of a wider multicultural world. Our aim is for all children to achieve a level of success speaking another language. We want them to develop enthusiasm and a positive attitude to language learning, which they will want to continue in the next stage of their education.

Implementation
French was re-introduced to the school at the start of the 2021/22 academic year and children are working on a two-year rolling curriculum. Our French curriculum is taught by a specialist teacher with a focus on developing oral skills and confidence through basic language development, which can be built on through KS2.
